Main Purpose of the Position:

To manage and uphold the highest Housekeeping standards, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction while maximizing revenue and profits within budgetary limits. This role involves implementing and maintaining company policies and procedures, continuous staff training and development, and maintaining exemplary service levels.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Tourism
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience with OPERA or similar PMS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage the Housekeeping department in line with company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to provide timely and efficient services
  • Ensure effective communication between Reservations, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance
  • Address and resolve complaints about services and equipment
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine necessary work
  • Oversee the cleanliness of rooms and public areas
  • Report unresolved daily maintenance issues to the project leader, host manager, and facilities manager
  • Log and securely store guest property left behind, informing the host manager
  • Ensure rooms/units are serviced promptly
  • Maintain departmental records and reports
  • Manage the staff canteen inventory
  • Ensure leave planners and policies are adhered to
  • Keep the departmental induction manual updated and introduce it to all new staff
  • Prepare and submit annual budgetary information and updates as required by the Financial Manager
