Our client operates a busy fully inclusive luxury beach resort in Zanzibar and they now require an experienced and energetic Executive Housekeeper to join the team. With over 180 rooms, extensive public areas and an on site laundry, this role oversees 40 staff.

Candidate attributes / skills

  • Prior African experience a definite advantage for the role
  • Candidates must have held an Executive Housekeeper role in a similar sized four or five star property and had experience overseeing on site laundries
  • The role is extremely hands on and the Executive Housekeeper needs to be constantly engaged with his/her team on the floor
  • Will be expected to implement and maintain high cleanliness standards throughout the resort – consistency is essential
  • Must be an excellent trainer
  • The property is very remote so need to be a good planner and have the ability to think on your feet
  • Creative thinker
  • Ability to manage a multi-cultural team of 40
  • Prior remote location experience would be a big advantage
  • Good communicator and motivator
  • Candidates must be active and in a good health – the property is spread over four storeys with no elevators so excellent mobility is essential
  • Must have a good sense of humour and be able to interact comfortably with the clientele


  • Salary up to US$2,000 net per month

The role is offered on a two year contract and the client is looking for someone who can start asap.
