Requirements : Grade 12. Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (B. Pharm). Proof of Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist. Show the ability to act with tact and discretion. Demonstrate good written and communication skills, Communication skills, good interpersonal skills, Administrative skills, computer skills, record keeping skills, research/data collection and analytical skills, teamwork skills, time management skills, problem solving skills, decision-making skills, planning, organizing and leadership skills. Be self -motivated. Grade 1 No experience after Basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration with the SAPC as Pharmacist. Grade 2 A minimum of five (5) years appropriate experience after registration as a Pharmacist with the SAPC. Grade 3 A Minimum of thirteen (13) years appropriate experience after registration with as a Pharmacist with the SAPC.

Duties : Understanding and complying with all relevant legislations and policies to provide a quality cost effective service, including HR and Treasury regulations and policies. Observing all Batho Pele principles and adherence to six ministerial priorities. Dispensing of medicine and ensuring adherence to the dispensing standards as set out in the good Pharmacy Practices (GPP). Doing prescriptions audits. Ensuring rational medicine use; ADR reporting and promoting antimicrobial stewardship. Ensuring adherence to the hospital medicine formulary, standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs). Ensuring medicines availability in the institution. Determining and ensuring maximum stock levels in the wards. Monitor stock levels in the wards. Doing ward inventory management, Ensuring Stock control and management in the institution. Ensuring reduction of expired stock. Ensuring that pre-packing, and compounding is performed in accordance with relevant Regulation. Ensuring records keeping, documentation and reporting. Participating in the monitoring and evaluation teams. Involving with projects and programmes as identified in the pharmacy. Willingness to tutor pharmacist interns and pharmacist assistant learners. Willingness and involvement in clinical trials as and when a need arises. Willingness to work at the service points where you are needed the most and at the time when you are needed the most. Willingness to deliver medicines to PHC clinics as and when a need arises. Willingness and readiness to perform overtime as and when a need arises. Supervising and managing subordinates.
